Gainesville & AMS trip report:

I have a trip report of my Amsterdam trip written. I just have to get it from my laptop into this blog. I wanted to get started with new entries before I ended up falling to far behind. On Thursday, I took a four segment run to Gainesville. I went ORD-IAD-PHL-CLT-GNV. I left ORD at 9:05AM and got to GNV 23;11. Amazingly, the time went by quickly as I had internet access but during the PHL-CLT flight, I really started to feel exhausted.
Something about PHL:
For some reason, the PHL had a high number of hot girls this trip. When I first landed, I saw 6 beuatiful women in my first 20 minutes on the ground. Compare that to seeing zero in ORD, and two in IAD.

UA Gates at PHL:
I had read complaints about the PHL airport on Flyertalk. I didn't really noticed it the last time I was at PHL because I was in the US Airways Express Terminal, which looked fairly new. In contrast, the gates that UA uses are trashed. I was sitting in one gate area, and within fifteen feet of me, I could see at least 5 chairs with giant gashes in the cushioning. The US C gates were in better shape but they seemed a lot dirtier than the ORD gates. The food court and mall area did seem very clean, though.

IAD G Terminal:
I spent only twenty minutes in the UA Express terminal at IAD in October. The only thing I remember from the experience is that the bathroom was flooded. Today, I finally got the full experience when I waited there for an hour. The place really does feel like a Greyhound bus terminal. The announcements are so loud and continuous. The bathroom was flooded again and it just felt dumpy. I can see why people on Flyertalk hate flying out of that terminal.

Sarging:
I walked around the University of Florida campus today with Seamas. I can see what he meant about there being an abudance of HB7.5+ there. I probably saw as many hotties in a thirty minute walk through campus as I do in three or four days of clubbing in Chicago.

Flyer girl:
I should have sarged this girl as I think I had her interest. This HB6.5 or 7 was handing out flyers for some company that sells spring break trips. I could tell she wasn't outgoing enough as she wasn't handing out that many flyers. I said, "Hi" to here and busted on her for being a poor salesperson. I told her she had to be more outgoing and I did a quick five second demonstration. She giggled and replied, "I need you to help me do this." I probably should have ran some material on her and DHV by being fun and outgoing to everyone that walked by, but instead I just said, "Maybe I'll stop by later" and I walked away.

Being outgoing:
I tried to demonstrate to Seamas how to get into the social mood. As I was walking around, I decided to start saying hi to everyone. Of course, I couldn't do this in crowded areas as I would be saying hi constantly. I did this where it was less congested. I found that saying hi to people gets me in a better mood. I also was reminded how rejection really doesn't matter. I got a variety of reponses. Some girls walked by like they didn't realize I was talking to them or didn't want me to talk to them. One girl said hi and smiled at me. That felt good.

Sarging at the pizza joint:
We stopped at a pizza joint for dinner. We saw two 2-sets that we wanted to talk to. I decided I wanted to open them just so I wouldn't feel shitty about not doing it. As I returned from the bathroom, I opened this set with a false time constraint and then asked what bars they recommended. It really was an indirect approach because I was geniuenly interested in their esponse. I then ejected b/c I didn't feel like running full game. Just so the 2-set didn't get the idea that I was really running a pick-up, I opened a mixed 3-set (two HB's, one AFC obstacle).
